8th Principle Workshops
The journey to becoming an 8th Principle Congregation continues. Last month, as part of our spring retreat, the Board took some time to deepen our learning with Paula Cole Jones. It was an enriching experience as we continue to work together on living our values.
We are excited to offer our members additional opportunities to continue learning together.
In May, Paula Cole Jones will offer a follow up workshop for UUCR members. This ninety-minute Zoom workshop will be offered three times to allow for maximum participation. Each session will focus on a slightly different aspect of congregational life. We will work on the concept of building a community of communities. In our conversations with Paula, we designated three broad areas of congregational engagement.
May 9th 7:00 – 8:30 PM will focus on Ministry – in this collaborative group we include Worship Arts, Lay Ministry Council, Music and Arts, Pastoral Care, Small Group Ministries, Emerson’s, Religious Education, and all members who are interested in these topics
May 16th 7:00 – 8:30 PM will focus on Justice – in this collaborative group we include Social Justice, Racial Justice, Immigration Action, Environmental Action, UU the Vote, and all members who are interested in these topics
May 18th 7:00 – 8:30 PM will focus on Stewardship – in this collaborative team we include Finance, Canvass, Planned Giving, IT, Buildings and Grounds, Leadership Development, Service Development, and all members who are interested in these topics
We want to encourage all members to attend based on their interests. However, the structure and work will be the same in all three workshops. Can’t attend the one on Ministry? Please join us for the Justice or Stewardship workshop. Your participation matters and your voice is important.
