Advocacy Policy

The purpose of the UUCR SOCIAL JUSTICE COMMITTEE ADVOCACY POLICY AND PROCEDURES is to define the procedures by which the Congregation may take public positions on social justice issues. It was approved by the Board of Trustees in March of 2008.

Resolution Against Torture, August 2007

UUCR's Social Justice Committee formally endorsed the aims of the Washington Region Religious Campaign Against Torture (WRRCAT) in this resolution (Word doc) that states that the use of torture as a tool of foreign policy or for any other reason poses a grave threat to the United States and to the world and agrees to unite with other faith-based bodies in taking a public stand against U.S.sponsored torture. Exit Iraq Resolution 2006

This Resolution in Support of Withdrawal of U.S. Forces from Iraq was adopted by the UUCR-SJ committee on June 6, 2006.
