We have several wonderful vacation home offerings for the Action Auction. Check your calendars, and take some time to think about which of these you’d like to bid on.

CALVERT COUNTY BEACH VACATION WEEKEND
Great log home along the Chesapeake Bay in Scientists' Cliffs, Calvert County, MD. Escape from reality for a short while and relax overlooking the Chesapeake Bay. Take time to hike, swim, canoe, kayak, walk the beach, collect fossils (famous Miocene fossils), bird watch, etc., you get the idea. This home has two large master suites, one of which has a kitchenette, two full baths, a sofa sleeper and an inflatable double size mattress which is available if needed. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a nice enclosed porch area and a deck, which overlooks the Bay. It's a very short walk to the beach. A canoe and kayak are available for use. There are several hiking trails in the area maintained by the American Chestnut Land Trust. This home is available for a long weekend - dates negotiable. Maximum 6 persons each weekend.

MOUNTAIN HIDE-AWAY WEEKEND
Enjoy the relaxing setting of a West Virginia cabin with all the amenities. Dine the Italian Way for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Explore hillside, mountains, and easy (or difficult) caves. Cabin description: Entrance is through the back porch off the kitchen. Here you can sip your morning coffee while enjoying the creek and view. Eat-in kitchen, pantry, dining and living rooms, full bath, mud room on first floor. Off the living room is a big porch facing beautiful country scenes. All bedrooms are on the top floor. You must be healthy enough to climb a very steep stairs almost 90 degree angle going up to the beds. Heat during the chilly months is plentiful. No air conditioning. Nights in the summer are generally nice and cool.

REHOBOTH BEACH VACATION HOME
Remodeled three-bedroom, two-bath double-wide mobile home in Rehoboth Bay Community (the best mobile home park in the Rehoboth Beach area). Air-conditioned. Cable TV (Comcast). Free telephone. Large screened porch under shade trees and overlooking White Oak Creek (see egrets and herons), gas grill on unscreened deck. Quiet location near golf course. Unitarian Universalist Church of Southern Delaware (uusd.org) nearby. And, of course, beaches, shopping, and great restaurants. Your family will love it. Available to a family group only, maximum of 6. Dates to be arranged, up to 17 days (must be consecutive!) during the summer of 2007.

VACATION HOUSE AT REHOBOTH BEACH
Enjoy a long weekend at my house on quiet Rehoboth-Lewes Canal, 2 blocks from ocean, sleeps 8. 4 BR (2 w/ 2 beds, 2 w/ 1 bed), 3 baths, A/C, microwave. Large screened porch; odd collection of bikes; dock; row boat and canal use. There may be construction next door, but not during evenings or weekend. Weekend to be determined; cannot be in July.

LAKE COTTAGE IN CANADA
Another new offering by some generous new members! A three-bedroom cottage near Ottawa, Canada hangs over water of small lake. Located near the town voted "most beautiful town in Ontario." Maximum 6 people for one week. Date to be arranged.

HOSTED WEEKEND AT DEEP CREEK LAKE, Weekend of Sept 7 to 9, 2007
Your hosts offer their home at Deep Creek Lake as a Bed & Breakfast on the weekend after Labor Day. Their Rambling Retreat has sleeping arrangements for 20 people, a canoe, a kayak, and includes TV/VCR/DVDs, fireplaces, outdoor hot tub, indoor whirlpool tub, air conditioning, fully stocked kitchen, washer and dryer. Two breakfasts and one dinner are included. Bidding is by floor/apartment. Lower level for six people, upper level for up to 5 people, separate apartment over garage sleeps up to 4. Bidding for each level starts between $250 and $300. This weekend has been offered each year with great times for all!
