Special Offerings

Some examples to plan for (and some you may not have thought of!):

  • Select the Sermon. This is a high value item, you know Rev. Lynn will really deliver on this one!
  • Portrait Sculpture. A new member and wonderful artist will create a clay fired and finished sculpture of you or a dear one. This would be a wonderful way to honor someone special in your family or life. Talk to Barbara Eldridge about the bust the sculptor made of her husband, Bill. Value is $1200, bids open at $200, so this isn’t a spur of the moment choice. But it may be the right choice for you!
  • Vacation Homes. We have several wonderful vacation home offerings for the Action Auction. Check your calendars, and take some time to think about which of these you’d like to bid on.
  • Professional Belly Dancer. Another new member offers belly dancing parties for girls and women. Do you have a girl with a special birthday coming up? Bids open at $100, it will be a very special event!
  • Choral Masterworks at Strathmore—2 Series Subscriptions. The Master Chorale of Washington (nee the Paul Hill Chorale) will be singing four wonderful classic pieces through the coming year at Strathmore. Stan Engebretson will conduct Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis on November 17, 2007; Handel’s Messiah on December 22, 2007; Bach’s St. Matthew Passion on March 15, 2008; and Britten’s War Requiem on June 7, 2008. . If you love choral music, this is a perfect combination for you. The series costs over $400 at the door. Check your calendar and plan to bid.
