About 16 persons attended our meeting on February 25, 2006. We split into two discussion groups, with each group taking a different question. The questions discussed were:
1) When is it OK to draw cartoons of Mohammed?
2) What is Spirituality?
Two questions that were proposed but not discussed will be carried forward to the next month's meeting to prime the list of questions. They were:
3) When is it OK to lie?
4) When is it OK to kill?
The remaining unselected questions proposed at the February meeting were:
5) What is personal happiness?
6) Is bias against those unlike ourselves due to insecurity?
7) When is it OK to add to the pain of grieving families by insulting the departed?
(E.g., protesters of the Iraq war voicing their opinions at soldiers' funerals.)
8) Should we keep the Electoral College?
9) How can the minority party influence government when it controls none of
the three branches?
These last questions will not automatically be carried forward to the questions list of the nextmeeting, but participants are free to propose any of them again if they wish.
